Miriam Hanid (25), one of Britain’s talented and up-coming young silversmiths, is the focus of this exciting capsule exhibition at the stunning National Trust property, Ickworth House.

Aside from a display of Miriam’s work, part of the installation of the exhibition includes her workbench, complete with tools and equipment so that as “artist in residence”, Miriam can demonstrate her skills and talk to visitors about her work and silversmithing processes.

The exhibition is an initiative by the Goldsmiths’ Company in association with the National Trust to help raise awareness of today’s modern British silver movement.

Also on display are highlights from Ickworth’s own rich silver heritage of antique silver collected by four generations of the Hervey family from the late 17th to early 19th century.

The contemporary silver exhibition provides an interesting visual link between past and futures silver treasures.
